Sister Coletta's Legacy Today: Hope and Faith in Fighting Cancer

Cathy Leichter always has enjoyed writing, from countless articles for magazines and other periodicals to co-authoring with her late husband the preservation of his incredible journey from Nazi-occupied Austria at the age of 14 to the United States and, ultimately, Oklahoma. 

However, following a breast cancer diagnosis, the purpose for Leichter’s writing changed.  Her words now provided therapy, exploration of feelings and emotions she had never experienced, and a way to document the path she was on. She also began to research, not only the treatments and outcomes, but those she would be entrusting to navigate and help her through the battle that lay ahead.  Her research ultimately led her to Sister Mary Coletta—a Sister of Mercy. 

Leichter realized it was Sister Coletta’s legacy that provided not only the spiritual, but the physical foundation for her hope in beating breast cancer.  This book reminds us of the many contributions of Sister Coletta and the Sisters of Mercy, shares the journey of a breast cancer survivor by letting the reader experience personal moments of fear and jubilance, and celebrates the medical advancements, doctors, and others that join the fight along the way.  May you find comfort and hope within its pages.
